Steven Michael Brackett

Steven Michael Brackett, known affectionately as Steve by his loved ones, passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 66.

Born on November 8, 1958, in Toluca, North Carolina, Steve was a man known for his loving nature, his keen sense of humor, and his friendly demeanor that made everyone he met feel like family. He departed this world in Shelby, North Carolina, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.

Steve was the cherished son of the late Cecil and Ruth Brackett, whose values and love shaped him into the remarkable man he became. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Jeffrey Brackett and his wife Lisa, and Daniel Brackett; and his two daughters, Jamie Brackett Hardin and her husband Tim, and Jessica Brackett Hudson and her husband Michael. Steve's joy was multiplied tenfold by his ten adoring grandchildren: Joely Brackett, Jayden Reed, McKenzie Brackett, Bethany Terry, Austin Hardin, Alex Hardin, Andrew Tran, Kaylee Tessiner, Kelsie Tessiner, and Lucas Hudson. Each of them inherited his vibrant spirit and contagious laughter, ensuring that his memory will continue to echo through generations.

Steve's life was marked by his dedication to his work and his community. His commitment was evident in the way he connected with his colleagues and friends. His professional journey was interwoven with a deep sense of responsibility and an unwavering commitment to the values he held dear. He was not only a pillar in his workplace but also in his community, where he was involved in various associations that benefited from his generosity and leadership.

As we remember Steve, we are reminded of the joy he brought into the world. Whether through his quick-witted jokes that could light up any room or the genuine care he showed to those around him, Steve was truly one-of-a-kind. Friends and family will fondly recall his ability to turn strangers into friends and friends into family.

Steve's life was a testament to the power of love, the joy of laughter, and the beauty of friendship. He navigated life's challenges with grace and faced each day with a smile that could brighten the darkest of times. His presence was a gift to all who knew him, and his absence will be felt deeply by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to encounter his generous spirit.

As we say goodbye to Steve, we take solace in the fact that his legacy will live on through the lives he touched. He taught us the importance of kindness, the value of a good joke, and the strength of family bonds. Steven Michael Brackett may have left this world, but his memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Steve will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Casar Methodist Church Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey, who will share words of comfort and commemoration. In the days leading up to the service, loved ones will gather to honor Steve's memory during a visitation at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home on Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
