Sylvia Franklin Goins, 90, died Friday December 29, 2023 at Atrium Health Cleveland.

She was the daughter of the late Dee and Sadie Franklin. Sylvia was a faithful member of The Burning Bush House of God, loved flowers, cooking and going to the beach with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William Goins; sisters, Gladys Mise, Polly Loudy and Mary Ann Epley; and brothers, Glenn Franklin and Kenny Franklin. She is survived by her sons, Don Goins and wife Donna of Shelby and Randy Goins of Fallston; daughters, Debbie Bailey and husband Michael of Lawndale, Deanie Waters and husband Jody of Mooresboro, and Pam Goins Hamrick and Tommy Terry of Shelby; sisters, Bernice Cline of Nebo and Norma Jean Klutz of Hickory; grandchildren, Curtis Bailey (Ashley), Matt Goins (Dee), Tyler Goins (Abby), Jonathan Hamrick (Casey), Myra Lowe (Brad), Jayma Goins ( Ed Stephens), Stephanie Bright (Brandon), Jessica Waters (Kasey Rennick), and Dakota Terry (Amanda); and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday, January 3, 2024 with Pastor Cynthia Skinner officiating at Clay-Barnette. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
