Thomas "Jimmy" James Propst, 83, of Belwood, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.

Jimmy was born in Cleveland County on May 18, 1942, and was the son of the late James Clyde Propst and Rebecca Dixon Propst. He was retired from Hoechst Celanese after thirty-seven years in the maintenance department. Jimmy was a devoted lifetime member of St. Peter's Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Mary Propst; brothers-in-law, Bobby Hamrick and Lon Canipe and a nephew, Jason Hamrick.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Dorothy White Propst; two sons, Jerry Propst of Mountain View and Danny Propst of Belwood; a daughter, Jill Minnich and husband Richard of Franklinville; a sister, Judy Propst Canipe of Belwood; five grandchildren, Will, Ben and Brian Propst, Tucker Minnich (Caroline) and Will Minnich (Selene); three great grandchildren, Isabella, Mckenzie and Kaiden; a nephew, Joel Hamrick and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at St. Peter's Methodist Church with the Rev. David Sain officiating. Jimmy will lie in state from 1:30 to 2:00 PM Friday at the church. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hut.

Burial will follow the service in church cemetery.
