Thomas "Keith" Anthony, 79, died Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Hospice at Wendover.

A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Thomas Delma Anthony and Thelma Louise Clark Anthony. Keith retired after 42 years of service with Milliken Magnolia Finishing Plant and was a member of the Pleasant City Church, where he served as a former Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and an RA Basketball Coach. Keith was always determined in all aspects of life, never meeting a stranger, he always enjoyed visiting with others. He also enjoyed riding horses, jogging, gardening, riding his golf cart and tending to his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Gay McSwain Anthony; and sister, Gayla Proctor. He is survived by his son, Greg Anthony and wife Sherry of Kings Mountain; daughters, Jena Grigg of Kings Mountain and Katie Holbrooks and husband Kevin of Cherryville; grandchildren, Trey Grigg and wife Erin, Austin Anthony and wife Ashlea, Tyler Grigg and fiancée Halie Etters, Ashlee Anthony and Tucker Holbrooks; great-grandchildren, Waylon Grigg and Lainey Anthony; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Glisson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Pleasant City Church.
