Toney Ray King passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at his home in Kings Mountain, NC.

Born in Gaston County on May 6, 1948, he was the son of the late Samuel Roy King and Thelma Rosealee Kitchen King. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurana Camp, and brothers Roy King and Jimmy King.

Toney faithfully served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was an active member of the Foothills Detachment of the Marine Corps League.

He was a devoted member of Harvest Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher. He worked for Sunshine Linen as a truck driver and supervisor for many years before continuing his career as a technician with H&H Pest Control.

Toney had a gift for working with his hands and loved staying busy. He was also passionate about singing and was a member of the gospel group Eternal Love.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Geraldine Greene King; his son, Toney Shawn King; grandchildren Christa Camp, Jacob Camp, and Carsten King; two great-grandchildren, Liam Woody and Layton Woody; and his brother, Bobby King (Nan).

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Harvest Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, with Rev. Gary Teague officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
