Tony Roland Conner, age 79, of Bessemer City passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 16, 1944 to the late Roland and Amanda Bryte Conner. He was a graduate of Bessemer City High School and owned Tony's Exxon in Bessemer City during the 70's and 80's. Tony had worked at Swift & Company and Carolina Freight, before going into homebuilding as a contractor for his own business. All of his homes sold based on the quality and craftsmanship he put into them. Tony was a member of NC National Cattlemen's Association, Homebuilders Association, Lion's Club, NC Horsemen's Association, and the Gaston College Equestrian. After retirement, Tony loved exposing and entertaining children to the farm life with his beloved man's best friend, Vanna. Even though Tony was passionate about his work and activities, he still made time for his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He will truly be missed but will forever be in our hearts.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 61 years, Geraldine England Conner; children Jeff Conner (Darlane Steer) and Debie Wooten (Jeff); grandchildren Abby & Jayden Conner and Ryan Wooten; brother Jessie Conner (Phyllis); sisters Linda Bess (Tim), Becky Weaver (Dennis), and Kay Franklin; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Tony's life the family will have a visitation on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3:00 pm. Inurnment will be with the family.
