Vera Parker-Hill

Mrs. Vera Parker-Hill peacefully transitioned from this life on January 1, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home in Shelby, NC.

She was born on August 23, 1959, in Cleveland County to the late James R. Parker and Rose L. Parker.
Vera attended Burns High School and began her career at Cleveland Mills. She later worked for Cleveland Regional Medical Center for 10 years before her health began to decline.
Vera was known for her love of cooking, especially big Sunday dinners that brought her family together. She was a devoted member of Destiny Life Center, where her joyful spirit and laughter left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Parker; sisters, Betty Joe Lee and Sherrie Black; uncles, David Lee, Thomas Maddox, and John Lee; and aunts, Bertha Manuel, Joan Atkins, Ann Smith and Louise Littlejohn.
Vera leaves to cherish her memories, her siblings, Mildred Lipscomb, Emmett Lee (Lula) and Jerry Parker (Jenny), all of Shelby. She is also remembered by the fathers of her children, Archie Hill and Johnny Borders, and her beloved children: Lawonna Petty (Ashley) and Carsandra Hill, both of Shelby; Archie Hill (Casey) of Kings Mountain; Elizabeth Hill, April Hill, Chasity Bradshaw (Tonnie), Robin Hill, and Jasmine Borders, all of Shelby. She also leaves behind her bonus son, Eddie West (Tweet); 22 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Vera's love, laughter, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
