Vergie Brittain Hoyle, 86, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Carolina Care Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cherryville.

Mrs. Hoyle was born in Cleveland County, NC on April 30, 1934 a daughter of the late Graten Brittain and Louiza Engle Brittain. She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cherryville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hoyle; stepfather, Hartsell "Bud" Brittain; a son, Dale Hoyle and three sisters, Patsy Lavery, Annabelle Grant and Effie Mae Holtsclaw.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Canipe and husband Jackie of Lawndale; a son Randy Hoyle of Shelby; a grandson, Clint Canipe of Lawndale and two sisters, Carolyn Philbeck of Cherryville and Mary Daisy Grant of Lincolnton.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 10:45am to 11:45am at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Brooks officiating.

Burial will be in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
