Viva Baker VanDyke

Viva Baker VanDyke, 55, of Kings Mountain, NC, crossed over into eternity with the Lord on January 14, 2024 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

She was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina. Viva worked in the automotive paint sales industry for many years at PPG Industries and with Sherwin Williams Automotive. She was a member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church and spent countless days at City on a Hill Ministries in Gastonia working with the local homeless population. She cared deeply for people and desired to fulfill the needs of others. Viva enjoyed staying busy and loved to travel. She was at her happiest when she was doing for others. She was a wonderful wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to countless people. Her warmth, kindness, and love will be remembered for a lifetime by all who knew her.

SURVIVORS: Husband of 22 years: Alan VanDyke, of the home

Parents: Al and Betty Hallman Baker, Crouse, NC

Siblings: Mike Baker (Denise), Hildebran, NC, Billy Baker (DeeDee), Hickory, NC, and Debbie Baker Brown (Raymond), Kings Mountain, NC

Step-son: CJ VanDyke, Georgia

Goddaughter: Tori Cook (Travis), Shelby, NC

FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Pastors Jeff Warlick and Jeff Mauney officiating

VISITATION: Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home
