Wanda Edwards Beam, 69, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, at her home in Shelby, NC.

Born in Polk County on January 4, 1955, she was the daughter of the late James Edwards and Geraldine Conner Harris.

Wanda dedicated more than 50 years to her loving career as a beautician, cherishing the opportunity to serve her clients. She had a deep love for animals, especially horses, and found great joy in riding. Above all, she adored her family and treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

Wanda is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Kenneth Lee Beam; her children, Jada Henderson (Matt) and Jason Beam (Brittany); and her seven grandchildren: Baylee Beam (Luke), Carson Beam (Gracie), Gracie Beam, Emmalyn Beam, Kason Beam, Walker Henderson, and Makenna Henderson. She was also blessed with a great-grandson, Holland Sanford.

She is also survived by her best friend, Debbie Bridges-Webb; her brothers, Mike Edwards (Anita); Ken Harris (Denise); sister, Eva Harris; and her niece, Rachel Harris.

A celebration of Wanda's life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Pleasant City Church in Shelby with Pastor Bryan Glisson sharing words of encouragement. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
