Wanda Jean Cook Johnson, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 while at Robin Johnson House, Gaston County, NC.

She was born in Kalamazoo, MI to the late Vera Mae Franks Pratt She is also predeceased by her siblings, Jerry Michael Kelly and Shelley Cox Byers.

Wanda was the best kind of mother - free spirited, nurturing and ahead of her time. A gentle parent before it was a trend. She raised her daughter with compassion and love. She was a proud grandmother and nothing bought her more joy than her four grandchildren.

Wanda lived a hard life, but she carried her strength with quiet. She was a true artist, expressing herself through drawing, poetry and numerous craft projects. She also was a Jack-of-all-trades and loved to share her talents and lend a hand to whoever needed it. She has made lasting impressions on so many friends. She loved gardening, especially flowers, and Elvis Pressley.

She is survived by her daughter, Krista Donovan (Shaun) and grandchildren, Lucas, McKenna, Alexa and Dylan. She also leaves behind, Kathleen Kreft (Douglas), Vicky Ashley, Karin Kuntz (Steve), Rick Pratt (Vicki), Sharon Jones and Bradley Beyer.

Wanda's spirit will live on in every act of kindness, every bloom in the garden, and every note of an Elvis song. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
