Wiley Allen, age 95, of Kings Mountain entered the presence or our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

He was born March 6, 1928, to the late Irvin Marion Allen and Maude Weathers Allen.

In addition to his parents, Wiley is preceded in death by his wife of 74 years Sue DeVeney, his brothers Haywood, George, Irvin Jr. (Tootie) and Aaron Allen, as well as his sisters Adelaide Hamrick, Virginia Drake, Betty DeVeney, Nancy Danielson and Barbara Bridges. Wiley is survived by his younger sister Freida Hawkins.

On October 19, 1947, Wiley married his beloved wife Sue and they were the parents of three children. Linda (David) Scism, Jean (Pete) Moore and Joe (Bridget) Allen. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A brick mason/contractor by trade, Wiley went on to teach at Shelby High School and retired after 30 years of service. He also started Allen Ornamental Iron Shop of Kings Mountain.

The Allen family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Summit Place of Kings Mountain for their excellent care.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, 2 o'clock in the afternoon, September 25th at David Baptist Church Cemetery in Kings Mountain. Family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
