William Lawrence "Billy" Roark, Jr.

William Lawrence "Billy" Roark, Jr., 73, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, passed away on November 12, 2024 in Cherryville, North Carolina.

Born May 15, 1951 in Cleveland County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Vinnie Pheagin and William Lawrence Roark, Sr. and was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Upchurch Roark. Billy graduated Blacksburg High School with the Class of 1969, then went on to work for and retire from the Eaton Corporation. He was a member at First Baptist Church of Grover and was also a longstanding Freemason. Billy was a sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also loved to watch racing and play golf. He was a big country music fan, and he was always entertaining his family by cutting up, joking around, and telling stories from yesteryear. Most importantly, Billy was a loving father and proud Paw-Paw.

SURVIVORS: Children: Holly York and husband, Travis, of Cherryville, NC and Tripp Roark and wife, Melissa, of Kings Mountain, NC
Sister: Anita Ross and husband, Jake, of Blacksburg, SC
Grandchildren: Landon York, Luke York, Lane York, Liam York, Riley Roark, Emery Roark, and Caroline Roark.
Billy is additionally survived by his mother-in-law, Doris Upchurch, and numerous nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Rev. J.R. Robbins officiating.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
