Yvonne Trammell Horne, age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on December 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William Claude and Norma Coker Trammell. Yvonne was a lifelong member of Eastside Baptist Church; she served as treasurer of her Sunday School Class. Yvonne was the owner of First Travel of Shelby; she enjoyed traveling with her family and helping others reach their vacation dreams. In addition to her parents, Yvonne is preceded in death by her high-school sweetheart and husband of over sixty-three years, Henry Forest Horne; a grandson, Joshua Ferree; a sister, Lenny Bridges and a brother, Calvin Trammell.

Yvonne is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Horne Wilson, and her husband Jeff, of Kings Mountain; a son, Henry Forest Horne, Jr., and his wife, Diane, of Raleigh; as well as five grandchildren; Heather Ferree, Ashley Horne, Robert Horne, Spencer Horne and CJ Philbeck; a niece Donna Rodgers and her family from California, a brother, Tony Trammell and wife Jenny of Piedmont SC. two sisters-in-law, Marie Horne of Shelby, and Genevieve Childers of Farmville; and a brother-in-law, Garnie Horne of Louisa Va.

A service and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M., Eastside Baptist Church, with Rev. Dale Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10:00 until 11:00 am in the sanctuary.
